Impacts

Nelli Kujansivu

An autobiographical solo about the road to acceptance, embracing vulnerability, and having a laugh at the absurdity of it all.

Impacts (working title) is an abstract autobiography that takes the audience on a journey from trauma to acceptance, showing the strength and adaptability of the human spirit. At the age of 10, Nelli Kujansivu experienced a circus accident and was told she would never walk again. Today, 20 years later, she is a professional circus artist and foot juggler— her two injured feet have become her working tools and artistic expression. Impacts is her ode to invisible pain and how we can turn our darkest trauma into our greatest asset.

Nelli Kujansivu graduated from the circus program at Stockholm University of the Arts in 2016. She has toured the world for more than 10 years both with her own creations and with companies such as Galapiat Cirque, Cirkus Cirkör, Kompani Giraff and different variety theaters. She is co-founder and performer in Company Afterclap and Sirkum Polaris. Over the years, she has developed her own personal approach to foot juggling. With Impacts, she aims to break taboos around physical and mental health.

After the performance, the bar at Tonsalen is open for drinks, snacks and mingle.
