The AfroStar Galactica

Welcome aboard a thought-provoking and interactive performance lecture where multi-brown magic fuels the journey into an afro-futuristic future.

Are you ready to expand your perspectives? Dragademic and Professor of Shade John-Paul Zaccarini welcomes us aboard the research vessel The AfroStar Galactica. Among the crew, we find musician and apprentice in perfume-making, Toubab Holmes, as well as anti-gravity artist Lucie Maisha N’Duhirahe. With aerial suspension, song and movement, live DJ’d music, scent, decolonial medicine, and afro-optimistic thinking, we are collectively propelled toward an afro-futuristic future.

FutureBrownSpace is an artistic research project and creative space supported by the Swedish Research Council, and based at Stockholm University of the Arts. The project envisions a future free from the interference of neo-colonial noise.
